I tagged my Sprinter the same way I did my cargo van. Both are tricky. First you have to bring the vehicle down to a stop. Usually, one well-placed tranq dart in the hip or shoulder does the job, but sometimes two are needed. Once subdued, you have to work quickly. Several methods are available, like nothing a side mirror or punching a hole for an ear tag. I prefer the more secure but arguably slightly less humane method of securing the tag to the rear with four large screws. Once you have secured the tag, step back in case the vehicle bolts the wrong way. Within a few minutes the tag will be all but forgotten by the vehicle and you can operate it normally.
