Speaking of Cheerleaders...

Attending the pre-game pep rally at school, cheering for your home team with your best friends and getting the team psyched up for the big game was an all-out reprieve from the doldrums of class and a great reason to hoot and holler on a Friday afternoon—and getting to leave class early just added to the excitement.

Just because high school is in our past doesn't mean we should stop cheering. In fact, we often need to cheer ourselves on in life too, especially in times that can be more difficult than others—and expediting can definitely be one of those times.

Rally a support system—your family, dear friends, enthusiastic coworkers and make sure they know just how to support you during this time in your life, whether it is words of encouragement, some "tough love", keeping you busy during times that you might be tempted to toss in the towel.

The more clearly you can communicate your needs to the people that you count on for support, the easier it will be for them to lift you up when you need it most.

Of course, it's entirely possible to be your own personal cheerleader, too. Think of a motivational talk, a mantra to repeat to yourself when the going gets tough, or an image or photo you keep around for moments when you need some extra pep.

You are taking the steps toward a healthy, prosperous, happy you. You can do this!

Good Luck and have an even GREATER day....:)

Actually the chore of quitting smoking AND losing weight has had lets say, added pressures....but the thought of a recurring heart attack dwarfs that by far....the realization that I am not immortal, has sunk in....here today, gone in 5 minutes....:)
