Solo Rest

Didn't want to, Hi-jack the other thread so here goes:

When I first started as a stright truck solo, I always got to bed fairly early. I would wake ready to go bright and early, and more often than not my load would come late afternoon, or into the evening.
It didn't take long for me to figure out that staying up till the wee hours works much better for me. I try not to hit the hay till 2-4 am then sleep for 7 or 8 hours. Yeah occasionally it shoots me in the foot with the 7am load, but more often than not this works for me. If I don't get anything by mid afternoon it is nappy time for me. I think one thing that helps me as a solo is that, I can go a long time without sleep then hibernate for 12-15 hours if I need to. Always within HOS rules of course.
I guess it depends on your carrier, but this works for me.
What do other solos do?

I've always been a night owl, so staying awake half the night & napping in the afternoon works for me.

I have tried several different scenarios, but they never seem to be the right one. Just when you think you have a plan that is working, it falls apart. So, I just do what I have to do, to get the load there. Sometimes, may have to stretch the rules a little. Some of you can come back on me and start your **** and bull sermon of how that makes us look bad or whatever, but, fact is, we all do what we have to do. Otherwise, we couldn't survive. Basically, when I get sleepy, I sleep. Whether it be a 30 minute power nap while I am loaded or a 10 hour dead slumber while waiting.
