Howdy Fellow travelers;
Have a quick question probably been out there before just haven't seen it. The wife and I (along with MBCC) own an Alumi junk I mean Bunk, where do you get sheets for a 44" X 90" mattress, is this a Canadian thing? We even wanted to get a new inner spring mattress can get one up to 44 x 80 guess have to build a headboard in the other 10". Talked to Sheel at Detroit and he didn't seem interested which is funny for someone in business to make money. I contacted Over The Road who make the sets in the truck stops but they want an initial order of 100+. Thats about 85 more than I need. Just wanted to see what everyone else was using. Must be getting bad out there we were a week late on our payment only because we left all the pay slips and things at home, when MBCC called I jokingly said I was turning it in and the rep didn't even get excited just asked what dealership. He later said they were being swamped daily. Thats tough news, but hang tough out there it can only get better if you think this is the worst. Happy Trails all:

if you know someone who know how to sew, buy cloth from a sewing store
and have them make them, my mother and my 2 sisters made mind for the
truck as i have a single bunk smaller than a single bed, have red baron on the sheets make a pattern for the corners and have at it
there always someone out to help, maybe online store could be started and this be one of first items in for us

Having been in same place before, I found Kmarts carries single sheets extra long that fit perfect. Ones I got are flannel, great in winter months

Welcome to EO!

I see that you are a new forum member. At the first Expedite Expo there was a company that sponsored the Expediter Pride Truck Contest. They had stock and custom made sleepersheets. They are great people and have a good product. You can visit their web site here: http://www.sheetsusa.com/truck.htm

Also, there is a local mattress mfg that we have partnered with that will glady make a custom mattress for a reasonanble price. Drop me an emailat [email protected] if you would more info. We carry their stock mattresses in our Online Store @ EO:

I also have the Alumibunk with the 44" bed. I use fitted double bed sheets and use the elastic corner securing devices. They are like an old garter belt attachment, and can be purchased in any of the discount stores. Works fine.

I went to replace the mattress in my 60" united sleeper. It looked to be a twin, so I bought a twin sized innersprung mattress. The width was fine, but it was a little short. I cut some thick foam to fill in the gap, which I built up underneath, where my head goes. I wrapped the whole thing with a large blanket as a cover. A twin sized mattress liner fits over the thing, too. On top of this I use a Coleman camping type sleeping bag- VERY comfy in the winter! Just chisel the ice off your face on a winter morning if you don't idle. This system makes up easy and looks real nice, along with being cheap and functional. A picture can be found in Martha Stewart's Truck Living magazine. :p
