a new service now offered by the Petro/TA repair shops will help drivers better manage their times.
if you get to a location for a repair, but the truck cannot be worked on right away, you can order a 'service ETA'.
lets say that you wish to first take a mandatory break, you can scheduled your bay and technician for the time you wake up.
they WILL make room for accommodating your rig.
i do not know if they will take a 'service ETA' call over the phone. {but worth asking for}.
i learned about this service this weekend. as i arrived to a TA location{only 2 bays} 4 hours before they could work on the truck. they then offered that service, and when i woke up, lord and behold, i did not had to stand in line once more.
use it wisely. know that they do offer this kind of service. and don't act surprised if you see a trucker 'jump the line', he was indeed there first.
