The CSM that Elliott played was a real life warrior. Was known to stand up in the middle of a battle and lead his men.
Sam Elliott is one of my favorite western/army actors. One of my favorite movies is Once An Eagle, from back in the mid 70's. They just sold the DVD last year for it and I'll be watching it again this week. It's a great book too.
