For a couple weeks my 99 ford e350 7.3 has cutout,just lost power while moving and after a pause starting going again{did not have tostart with key}couple days ago it does it and won't start.The guy who looks at it replaces the fuse for fuel pump and it runs then cuts out and after a pause runs.My guess is the fuel pump is bad,if so is the diesel in the fuel tank like the gas motors?

Just a guess, but did you change the fuel filter?

I think..I think, trying to jostle my brain, but I believe the 7.3 powerstroke, T444 has a fuel pump relay that can cause this problem, and is hard to diagnose, yet causes those symptoms. The 444 is a popular school bus engine, and I recall a bus mechanic pulling his hair out to solve that problem.

It was the relay,good thing the pump itself is 350$ and ford was the only parts dept that could get it. Thanks for the help!
