Has anybodys' refrigrator ever went out. First I thought it was the food but after buying food in different states, I realized it was my refrigrator. Has this ever happened and what did you do to fix it?

Ours went kaput in our last truck. It was a Norcold, we contacted them and was told that they don't repair that model, it's considered a "throw away", cost for replacement.......$1200!!! It could be different for you (I hope so), contact your manufacturer and see where it goes from there. If it is repairable, they'll be able to lead you to their factory approved repair people. Good Luck!

If you want a 12V replacement Truckfridge.com has them but $400 to $700 mine went out so i went to walmart got one for under $100 and made the opening bigger for this fridge.Works great. Its a 3.7 cubic foot fridge with freezer area pulls 1.4 amps.I run my fridge, microwave and everything on 1500 watt inverter with no problems.

The fridge in my truck died last month. I replaced it with the same model from WalMart, (about $125), and except for asking a couple guys to lift the new one onto the passenger seat, was able to remove the old one, and install the new one, all by myself. :7 It's a pretty good fridge, IMO, I wouldn't see any reason to spend a lot more for one.
PS What looks like a butter dish, is actually an ice cube tray, lol.

This is a great question.
Could we make this, or start another sticky thread about truck refrigeration?
