OK Recruiters---Lets hear from you. I'm planning on buying a straight truck soon BUT for now, I have a 1997 E250 cargo van that I need to use somewhere. Who's leasing cargo vans? Who pays the most? and since I live in SC, would one company be better than another because of my location? Thanks guys!:)

Hey Pappy,

You have great timing! Express-1 has entered into some agreements with some major shippers and we are actively seeking and adding all types of vehicles to our fleet, including cargo vans. Older equipment must pass inspection, if it is a solid machine and it looks good we'll welcome it to the fleet. Please give me a call and I'll be happy to talk over the pay and other details.

Have a great day - Scott

I'm almost ready to move to expediting. After 1.5 million miles of OTR long haul with pilot vehicles, show cars and antique's, plus 750,000 hauling windows and doors, I'm looking forward to a more laid back form of driving. At 58 years of age, I need to increase my income and get more home time.

What about the West coast? Does anyone expedite out this way? Most of what I see is in the Midwest and eastward. Not that I have anything against the Eastern part of the States, I just don't care for the congestion and all that snow which I really hate after all these years.

I'm looking at a straight truck instead of a van. The van was my first choice but I've been told the van is limited income wise and it's hard to make one livable with extras like a sleeper and generator. I can live without the TV and VCR. I have a laptop that does DVDs and as a gamer, I can play aniline (wireless) at many truck stops.

Any suggestions? Tips? I'm in contact with several companies right now. I have a felony conviction 40 years ago for grand theft auto. It's been dismissed and my civil rights (no handguns) have been restored. I'd like to do this without HazMat but can get the endorsement again if really needed.

Thanks for your input.

While I'm at it, does any expediter company have non HazMat freight? I had the endorsement years ago and dropped it to save a few bucks. Judging by what I've read recently, the price and the hassle has hit the roof. $94.00 just for fingerprints?? Ouch!!

I'd like to make my move by December of this year so if you know something please advise.

Thanks,
Chris
