How about some fun!

What truck stop chain do you like the best and which chain do you try to avoid.

Here's mine:

Favorite: Pilot
(2) Petro
(3) TA
(4) Loves
(5) Flying J - I have never fueled here and never will. Will only use the RR if they are the only place within 10-miles.

Worst of the best: The Pilot at Franklin, KY where they have no 3rd shift person to clean the rest rooms or showers. So bring your own toilet paper, towels, soap etc - because they don't lift a finger on 3rd shift.

Best of the Best: 'The Mother Ship' - Iowa 80 Truck Stop! Always clean, good food, and pretty gosh darn nice employees. And if you have a weekend layover - plenty of things to do right there on site.

1. Flying J since I am in a van. (Free showers, some have
quiet parking lots)
2. Petro (buffet is good, but merch is overpriced)
3. T.A. (not a bad buffet) go to the Popeyes in GA off of
I-75 exit 296. good food there. However, the parking
lots are noisy.
4. Pilots- Good for transflo's but the noisiest parking lots of
them all. also some are too darn tiny.

Pilot and Love's are not even truck stops. They're fuel stops. The only way I go anywhere near either one is to keep from crappin myself. They dont call the Pilot the pee lot for nothing. The hook or Petro for me, altho I do wish there were more quality places to stop out there. Iowa 80 is great but how often does one get out there ?

J for the free showers for vans, and for giving you two towels in the shower. I use one for a floor mat. For other amenities, Petro is good. I stay away from Pilot and Loves but I will buy fuel there or stay there if there isn't a J around.
