Questions About Panthe II

I am a veteran in the small package express for twenty years and would like to make a switch and go over the road with a medium size van such as a sprinter.

My Questions:
1.) Does Panther II keep its drivers busy or is the driver sitting around for long periods of time waiting for a load?

2.) Are all loads of same size vehicle paid the same or are some of them discounted and if they are, is the driver told before hand?

3.) Are there better paying companies out there that someone may know?

4.) If you are at Panther II are you pleased

Any answers to put me in the right direction would be greatly appriciated.

Thank You and have a great day

I suggest you go thru some of the site and see for yourself what is said both pro and con. There aren't many "bad" companys left anymore just companies that "fit" you and your goals. I personally can think of both good and bad to say about anything, and I think you can also. How about driving for a fleet owner and get your feet wet without drowning. This is what I recommend to anyone unfamiliar with what we do. Thanks for the questions and I hope I am helping and not adding to the confusion. I personally ran for only two companies before I realized which one wa the perfect fit for my income and lifestyle goals.

As Glen mentioned, everyone has to find the company that fits them best. We are currently with Panther as a team in a straight truck and have been successful with them. I can't offer any real advise on how vans do with them. Their recruiters or drivers can answer most of that. They do keep you busy and one can do well once you know their system.

Well, I have been with Panther II for alittle over 3 years driving a van.

They keep me as busy as I want to be. You can't sit around for too long. After about 24 hours, I am moving looking for a load. I find that the cost of moving myself is less that sitting at a truckstop.

All loads are paid at your contracted rate. Sometimes they will pay more if the load will not fit in a normal van. This is when something like a Sprinter would be helpful.

Reguarding better paying companies. some like FECC will pay more for loads. However, they have more than their share of cheap freight.

I think Panther II has treated me very well during my time with them.

Hope this answers some fo your questions.

Good Luck,
