Purge valve will not go back in.

I'm working on a 2009 freightliner cascadia. The air pressure will not build because it goes straight out the purge valve on the bottom of the air dryer. I replaced the cartridge and cleaned the gunk out of the mechanism but it still did it. I pulled the purge valve out of the bottom and cleaned it out but now it won't go clear in so I can put the snap ring back in. Any ideas?

not being a smart ***, but why not just go get a popper valve, they don't cost that much and its cheap insurance if the one you repair locks up and builds too much pressure in the tank and lines!

If that's a Bendix valve, those come with a grease packet, and real clear instructions to only use that grease.

Just spitballing here, but I'm wondering if you used the wrong or no grease when reinstalling.

I would also replace with a new one.
