We used an HP 4135 all-in-one printer, scanner, copier. We bought it on sale for about $60 We had to use a small inverter to run it, (400 watt 120vac). With it we would scan the BOL's and save them as PDF files which we would then E-mail to our carrier. We could also use it as a "copier" by scanning a document and then printing it out. Some all-in-one printers have a "copy" button that does it in one step. My recommendation is that you look for one that has "wi-fi" or "bluetooth" capability to eliminate the cable hookup to the laptop. These are pretty small and can be found for under $100.

Epson says its new Stylus NX420 printer/scanner/copier is the first all-in-one device with built-in wireless-n (IEEE 802.11n) that costs less than US$100. The company says this product has been designed as an affordable and easy-to-use option for busy families and students who want to share a multi-function printer.
“Not only is the Epson Stylus NX420 extremely easy to use, but it also includes the latest wireless standard, wireless-n, plus print, copy and scan features in one powerful machine,” said Stacey Tieu, associate product manager, Consumer Ink Jets, Epson America, Inc. “Consumers definitely get more for their money with the feature-rich NX420 all-in-one.” The NX420 has individual print cartridges and exclusive fade-, smudge- and water-resistant DURABrite Ultra ink. It has a 1.5-inch LCD screen and built-in memory card slots that allow users to print all types of documents, including borderless photos with red-eye removal (which can be printed without turning on the computer). The Epson MicroPiezo print head features DX3 technology with smart nozzles that precisely place three sizes of ink droplets to create better-looking photos and documents.
The scanner operates up to 2400dpi and the copier can reduce or enlarge between 25and 400 percent. Epson claims prints speeds of 6.4ppm in black and 3.3ppm in color.
The device has one standard ink set for photo and document printing, two-sided printing and the unit is RoHS compliant.
