Thinking about going to work for them with a cargo van. I don't see any recent posts. Any one heard how they are to work for? I spoke with an Allen Johnston.

They're not bad. Mostly NLM loads, but they do have a few customers as well. They're who I ran for exclusively before I got my authority. They're not as big as some of the other carriers and that can be a good thing sometimes. They don't use qualcomm and they don't have the "boards" like Panther and FedEx. They're pretty good at looking for loads in the surrounding areas if they can't find you something where you're sitting. Sometimes they'll offer you pickups that have a lot of deadhead and you just have to do the math to see if it's worth it, but that's better than just giving you offers only in your particular area based on some "board" you may be on. If you're looking to get your feet wet, they're probably not a bad company to check. They're good folk and pretty easy to work with.

They are reputible and a good company

But that being said with todays current economic climate I would say persoanlly I would chose a carrier that had more direct customers then bid boards, but that is just me,,,they are a good company. I would find out what % of business comes from NLM and other bid boards before making a final choice.
