Pre-Paid Cell Carriers

I guess if you start out broke you've got nothing to lose! You might be on to something here Dawgg!

Hehe. Maybe.

Yeah, I was told about Boost, but when the guy showed me the coverage map, there was no way. It stays pretty close to major cities. Didn't look like a good option for being out in the farm belt.

It's in this section because in the sleep depraved state I was in when I posted it, it made sense to put here. Move it if you wish. No reason for this to become a debate on where it goes.

Bearcat, because I live outside the expedite lanes, I figure I'll be out closer to 21-28 days. Simply due to freight availability and economic viability. 64 in WVa is dead for a lot of carriers. The Turnpike gets way down deep with those mountains over you, so it's pretty normal to lose signal. Every carrier I or my wife has ever had loses signal there, at least in spots. I'd be shocked if I DID get a signal between the northernmost and middle toll booths.

Turtle, thanks for the links. I normally use up the whole of my $15 ATT card at home, and figure I'd use a lot more on the road. I about always ran over my minutes with Sprint on the road. Tho, what killed me was "long distance charges". Not roaming. They called it long distance. Roaming was different. I'd call and complain, and they said they couldn't do anything, and that there was no way to avoid the LDCs. Never did believe them. So...I believe the $3.02 figure, even if not the way they calculate it...lol

Problem with Tracfone is the per minute is brutal. Something like $.33 per minute. Wife uses them. It's simple, and easy, and lets you know ezzactly how many minutes you have left, but it's expensive.

Thanks,
Christopher

I have a boost phone and no complaints. The guy at rack shack said they use the sprint and verizon networks. . Bought the cheapest phone for 29 bucks and pay 50 a month for unlimited text and talk. I had verizon before and see no difference in the amount of coverage I get.
