If you plan to get a hitch to carry a generator on a Promaster avoid the class 3 type, they will not last. You need to get a class 4. I've spoken to several drivers who have experienced problems with the hitch mounts tearing, including myself. The class 4 has supports that mount to the frame, as the class 3 only mounts to bumper support.
