I will take multiple skids...it spreads whatever weight around more evenly...it is the weight..always about the weight...

Yep, but I omitted a little detail, my van is 140" WB, and to take 3 skids I have to get all the crap I have here into the front seat area.

I did it once, not knowing any better, and the skid came all the way to the back of my seat. And with my luck, I showed up at delivery at around 10pm and I didn't have a number on the BOL and they couldn't unload me without it. Of course the shipper was closed, so I had to wait for the morning. Do you know how comfortable the driver seat is for sleeping purposes? Couldn't even stretch across the 2 seas since the passenger seat was occupied by stuff. :(

6080 empty, and it took a lot of work to get it that way. When it left the dealer it weighed 5580.

I can get the req'd 2500 lb but I have to be careful how much junk I put in. Everything I built was done with aluminum or very light wood, and more than a few original parts are now stored in my garage at home.

Do I wish it would haul more ...yes. Am I going to spend a lot of money to do it...no.

This is why I was trying to re discuss the 3500 wheel well problem.
What your mileage Piper?

How often do you sprinter driver load more than 12"?

I get 28 mpg Canadian which is around 23 mpg US. In the winter I loose about 4 mpg as the fuel up home gets real thin.

Before FedEx, I had freight that was near 12 feet fairly regularly (that's why I bought the Sprinter). Since coming to the Fed, I have never come close to filling it up. I also rarely get a load that weighs more than 2000lb.
