Does having had a Kidney Transplant disqualify me from driving for any of the companies?
I passed a DOT physical in Feb.05 and hold a FAA Commercial pilots medical cert.

Thanks for the help !!

Hi,
You should get a run down or list of what the DOT physical is going to be like prior to showing up ( every carrier is different) I showed up for Panther II orientation and failed the physical because I had a prescription for Inderal to treat tremors due to hyper thyroid. They werent sure of what it was so I failed. ( thank god!)

I install flooring now locally and I'm alot calmer, not stressed and make more money.

Prior to that I had just passed a DOT Physical for Roadway Express which is a Grueling test given by physical therapists where you have to hit a heart rate mark of between 92 -105 BPM after exercise and then still have the rate fall to below 88 BPM after 4 minutes of rest.

So it depends on the carrier but get the low down before you commit to a carrier and good luck!

You were examined by doctors who were confused by a medical condition? I would think a competent physisian would be able to make inquires and find out what's going on. You would think a company the size of Panther could do better than that.

I think Panther uses PA's (Physician Assistants) Either way they never heard of my condition ( graves disease)They didnt like the slight hand tremor that I had that day...which comes and goes with the climate.
I live in Florida so I'm used to warm weather, the room where they do the physicals was freezing!, Which brought it on. Doesnt matter to me though, I saved 107,000 bucks that I didnt have to spend for a truck and have retired completely from driving and am now installing stone and tile floors here at the beach.
