If anyone is asking what they can give you for Christmas, and you're either newly active or maybe just about to be, may I suggest a super-useful and inexpensive item? A million-candle-power hand-held spotlight. Every expediter makes at least occasional nighttime deliveries, and everyone has had the frustrating experience of trying to read street signs and business signs that are just out of range of the headlights. A regular flashlight is useless for any distance, and even the lantern-style ones are inadequate. This spotlight will really simplify your life. Lowe's has one for just at $10, and I'm sure many other places carry them. There are more expensive ones available that are rechargeable, or that plug into the truck's cigarette lighter, but this one is cheap and very convenient. Sure wish we had had one when we started out!

When they sit it down with the light facing the seat it can remain hot and start the seat on fire. Once it is lying face down on the seat you wouldn't be able to tell that it was on with some models.
