Parking

I called my Town Hall today. To ask about zoning regulations for parking a truck on the street, in front of my house or on my property. He told me that since I live in a residentialy zoned area that I could not park on the street, or on my property. He also told me that the ticket was $500 for the first offence. I had asked if he had any other suggestions for me and he said I would have to get permission from a business owner or someone in a business zoned area to park the truck there. Has anyone else come across this problem ? And if so do you have any suggestions for me ? I believe I could get a parking spot somewhere in my town. But I dont want to get home in the middle of the night and have to walk home. Or sleep in the truck and wait till morning to call the wife and ask for a ride. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Super.

I have a similar problem in the community that I live in.A bunch of old ladies with nothing to do pettioned the town council members to pass an ordinance prohibiting truck parking on the city streets. I pay a Texaco service station guy $25.00 a month to park in his station,I pay whether I am there or not.Fortunately it is within walking distance of my home.Several of us have this problem here, and when Allied or United Van Lines come in to unload or load we COMPLAIN to the city as they gave in to a bunch of bored women.

We have the same problem where I live. Nothing over 10,000 gvw is allowed to park in a residental area. The village has a large parking area at the village maint. garage where they allow us to park. They also have a video camera down there that watches our trucks. It is seven blocks from where I live. Sometimes I walk, weather permitting. Is there a city lot nearby that they will allow you to park? Ask them.

Thanks for the replys.
There is a Elks club 2 blocks from my house and they have a huge parking lot. Maby I could ask them.
Or maby they would let me if I made a donation.
I would love to hear what other people do in this situation.

A friend of mine makes a cash donation to a church that has a large parking lot.He has to have it out on Sunday mornings but other that that it works fine for hime. The church pastor is always happy to get a donation but because of tax reason it can!t be a formal charge as the church is not subject to IRS rules..
