Out Of Business

Its official, due to SLOW freight my owner is probably gonna be going out of business by the end of the year if not before. I'm looking for a new Owner to sign on with as a team driver and he's looking for a Team that can drive his truck just so he can break even before the year is out. I knew this was going to happen, I've been saying it all year long. I'm always thinking tomorrow will bring a better day but of late tomorrow is like dejavu of yesterday and the day before that. I never thought I'd see the day when the kid working the fryer at McDonalds is bringing home more than me, and I have a Class A CDL with 4 1/2 years worth of experience driving tractor trailers and straight trucks. Maybe I should get a job at Taco Bell making taco's and beef meximelts, the pays not good but at least I won't be broke. I miss the good ol days of expediting when runs were a dime-a-dozen. Don't get me wrong, I'm not like those other drivers that complain about everything, I'm just one of those drivers that loves the expediting business and loves working for FedEx CC but has been holding out thinking tomorrow would bring a better day but it hasn't.

Before calling it quits, sometimes the grass really is greener on the far side of the hill. Instead of the owner shrugging his shoulders and wondering why he's going broke, maybe he should try some different tactics before giving up. He is lucky to have a good driver like you who enjoys the business. Tell him maybe, just maybe, he should lease the truck to a different company before quitting. There are places out there where you can still run solo for a good gross in expediting.

Sean, people go broke giving FDCC "another day". There are companies out there that are running. Don't let FDCC chase you to Taco Bell, just let them chase you to another company that is picking up FDCC's freight while their own drivers sit. Good Luck!!!

another question is if he is willing to put a team to work and you want to team up in a new trk. y doesnt he just find another single driver to put with you as a team ???problem solved on both ends!! ?? ps. the switching carriers also may be nessesary??
