Found this in the Land Line magazine August/September Issue

"Bergstrom, makers of the NITE System that uses their battery powered A/C with a fuel-fired heater just announced a partnership with eNow to use solar charging to provide electricity for the A/C."

And from the same article

"For added comfort, beef up your truck’s insulation. It will make all your devices more efficient."

just make sure you park under the parking lot lights...LoL
{and don't act surprised to find your rig topped with birds drops in the morning...}
- never seat under a standing bird!

You lost me, Are perhaps you thinking with enough birds , that wind drafts from the bird's wings will cool the truck ? Hmm!

it's a NIGHT system LoL
solar panels won't help in night time.
nor when covered with snow.

UV rays go through the snow I've been using solar panels for 5 years now[/QUO

Thanks , I would not have had a clue about the solar panels still functioning even in a limited capacity, when covered with snow.

My main interest in the article was the a/c side of the unit. Some where I had heard that batteries were only capable of storing enough energy for approximately 8 to maybe 10 or 11 hours of cooling. Then either crank the truck to recharge the cooling unit batteries, or do with out cool air. Solar power sounded like at least a partial solution

for air I have been using a gocool which is a 12 volt air it does not use a compressor it uses cold water through to evaporator from 40lb of ice just can not keep up with heat during day in MS or TX only last 3 or 4 hours then you also have cost of filling every night with ice about 10.00

using a blue stare controller to decrees the voltage from the panels I was able to increases the amperage they put out goggle solar power sprinter I was on the cover of Expedite Now Mag about 4 years ago with all info in article Phil wright

That article seems to have disappeared from the Expedite Now Mag.

This thread had the link to that article http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...74DoAw&usg=AFQjCNFHBNsRCXN_e9EeZeMKmT0U259Ehw

This is the link to the Expedite Now http://www.expeditenow.com/news/publish/Expediter_Uses_Solar_Power_to_Eliminate_Idling.html
Unfortunately it said page not found.
