News about my father in law

I know some of you have been keeping him in your thoughts and prayers and I appreciate it. Friday he was released from the hospital. This morning he woke up with a horrible pain in the right side of his chest (where the cancer is) and a temp of 102. My mother in law took him back to the hospital. The ER doctor decided to admit him. While my wife and I were there visiting a doc came in his room. This doc said after looking at the xray they did in the ER this morning in looks like an iffection similar to pnuemonia has set up around the cancer blocking off his wind pipe even more.

After this I was thinking to myslef then why in the heck did you guys let him go home? Now his chemo has to be postponed. It was supposed to start on the 13th but they can't start it until the infection is cleared up.

On another note. I really wish you could remember my step granddaddy Tommy in your prayers. Everyone calls him Pops. He has been fighting a cancer called lympnomia (I think is the spelling) for 10 years. It doesn't look good now. He has been in the hospital for the past 3 weeks. The past week his wife has been to sick to stay with him in the hospital so she hasn't been able to visit. Thank you. I hope everyone in you alls family is doing well.

A difference of 24-36 hours can make the difference between identifying pneumonia and not identifying it. My son in law was sick over Christmas. The weather was really bad so rather than drag him out and expose him to that on top of being sick they waited 2 days to go to the doctor. When he did go they found the pneumonia and told him it was good he didn't come in 2 days earlier or they'd probably have missed it. I know it's terribly frustrating but it may not be the doctor's fault, it may just be a coincidence of timing. In any event, he'll continue to have our concern. Good luck.

Ark,

It seems like you and your family have a lot to deal with and I will keep your father-in-law and Pops in my prayers, along with the rest of the family. I know how hard it is on the family, when someone is ill. God Bless

Lung cancer and pneumonia seem to walk hand in hand with each other. I’ve been fighting pneumonia since Thanksgiving both at home and in hospital. Once I finish series of antibiotics, prednisone and other meds it reappears and back on a same or different antibiotic. They admitted me to hospital for a week of IV antibiotics, prednisone and other meds which seemed to do the trick for a week and back it came with a fury. If the current dose of antibiotics, prednisone and other meds don’t do the trick back in hospital for more IV meds.

It is very frustrating but there isn’t anything they can do to remedy situation. I’ve been increasing my prayer and meditation and as always it helps the situation.

Your family will continue to be on my prayer list.
