This is an unabashed promotional announcement -- that is, an advertisement -- for my new website.
The name of it is Bluehounds and Redhounds.
The URL is http://www.bluehoundsandredhounds.info.
It presents the histories of Greyhound and Trailways -- that is, the regional operating companies which once comprised the two giants of the intercity highway-coach industry in the USA.
It starts with Greyhound, because that's my first love.
Bluehounds and Redhounds will remain under construction for some time, while I continue to expand it.
It includes also a chapter (entitled "Growing Up at Greyhound") from my autobiography, which in turn includes a section on the history of the Nashville Transit Company.
That chapter further includes (in the section about the Scenicruiser) explanations of downshifting, double-clutching, shifting the Scenicruiser, float shifting, Roadranger transmissions, and shifting 9-, 10-, 13-, and 18-speed gearboxes.
I cordially invite y'all to visit Bluehounds and Redhounds.
If you drop in, please sign my guestbook there.
Again, the address is http://www.bluehoundsandredhounds.info.
Thanks.
As always, best wishes to all,
Doc.
