I have been driving truck for 15 years, and I am considering going into expediting in a straight-truck. I would like to find a company that will allow my girlfriend to go with me, and let me train her so she can get her CDL and we can team. Does anyone know of any companies that I should check into? I would appreciate any advice you can give me about the business.

first read back for a year to learn more.
second unless that strt trk has a sleeper you will need a truck of your own or an owner.

your gf may have to go thru orientation in order to ride along. the owner would have to be cool with the idea of his truck being used to train.

talk to the recruiters and ask about your idea.

third read the next post ....."need advice."

I have to agree with Jack here, go back and read as much as possible, you have to remember a few things here, right now things are slowing down and it is tough on solos, and you will be having to pay to feed and supply two mouths. Sometime when you first start out in this indusrty it is tough enuff feeding one, much less two. There is one company I know that offers a training program and that is Panther, I dont know of any other because I have not worked for any other. Keep on reading and asking questions, thats is what we are here for.and BTW welcome aboard, there is a wealth of info on the site, but you have to read, read, read..it is here....good luck.
