The new Per Deim rates have not changed form Oct 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013

They Are As Follows

SECTION 3. SPECIAL M&IE RATES FOR TRANSPORTATIONINDUSTRY
The specialM&IE rates for taxpayers in the transportation industry are $59 for anylocality of travel in the continental United States (CONUS) and $65 for anylocality of travel outside the continental United States (OCONUS). See section 4.04 of Rev. Proc. 2011-47.
Remember the Per Deim is a reimbursement for Meals only,
Hotels are allowed and deducted on a separate line in the tax schedule.

If you want to take advantage of the Canadian Per Deim Rate, it must be kept acturately to the time you cross the border to the time you actually return. It might be for only 1-4 hours if you have to deliver in Windsor, ON only. and come right out Empty. All of The time spent in Canada must be added separately and together to recieve the per diem for every trip , itmight only be 5 days total for the year but its $52.00 of the $65.00 that you are entitle to you as a deduction.
