Oh My Gawd.......
Read through this crap......
http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/documents/hos/logbook.pdf
I just scanned through it..didn't really study it in detail.
But, from what I'm gathering so far, your "new" hours for the day restart at Midnite everyday. Doesn't look like they're going to allow full 10 driving time starting at 6-7AM anymore like I used to drive. Let's say I come off the road at 6PM and take the night off. My 10 hour "Off Duty" time will officially end at 4AM the next morning. At 4AM, my New Day starts whether I'm up and active or not. If I set my alarm for 6AM, start my day off at 7AM, I've already used up 3 hours of my 14 hour day. Now let's say I start driving at 7AM, I must come off the road no later than 5:30 no matter what. (after 30 minute mandatory break) No more running from 7AM to 7PM like I used to if loading and unloading comes into play.
Maybe I'll get a better understanding of it all when I sit down and study it thoroughly. Not really catching full interest just yet...still selling Furniture like crazy. But, if this any indication to what Truckers are going to have to abide by in the future, I may not be interested in keeping up with/getting back into Trucking at all. I've been successful in just everything I've tried (Except Courier Work), and would rather sell fried bananas at a Hockey Game than have to put up with this BS.
