Just wondering if anyone is thinking the same thing. Will the new HOS rules cause an increase in cargo van freight? Thoughts.....

When they lost an hours drive time a few years ago there was no real bump in volumes I could see or my pay check....this 30 minute deal once worked into the system by customers, carriers and drivers should really have no effect.....

Not to say there hasn't been a bump in Kimberly-Clarks business....the use of Kleenex appears rampant at the moment....:p

When they start regulating cargo vans will there be an increase in s/t and t/t freight?

Shippers use the vehicles they do because of load requirements and sometimes out of ignorance. There is no reason to think this will change and 1/2 an hour in difference in delivery times is not important for the vast majority of loads.

I don't think a half hour break is going to benefit vans one way or the other. The regulated solo truck still has 11 hours drive time so nothing has changed short of arriving a half hour later.
