Based on positive and negative things I've heard or read about a company is how decide. Grant it I look at the over all picture and also the person who is saying whatever.
Take this forum as place to read and voice opinions as an example.
On this forum come many drivers. Some come for advice and some come to get advice and/or to warn us of the bad things they have encountered.
Take a company like E-1, the drivers working with them; now and in the past say good things (for the most part).
Take a company like A-T, the drivers working with them now or in the past say bad things (for the most part).
Why do you think this is?
So you are thinking of working for a company and would like to find out this companies history? Ask the recruiter if he or she can give you some references of drivers past. Call them if the company will give you some references and ask them how it was to work for that company.
If the company recruiter will not give you any that should be a red flag.
I personally hear all negative things about this company, everywhere I go. Mostly from drivers who worked for them, in the past.
I noticed you have been a member for a few months now. Have you read the archives? You profile is rather vague. When I give a newbie help, I look at the person asking. The more I know about that person determines the kind of help to give.
Maybe you live in Canada, and are looking to work for a company in North Carolina. Although it doesn't matter where you live, if you are a veteran expediter, it does to a newbie.
Then again we the members of this forum only give our own personal opinions and you have to decide what and what not to do.
Sometimes the best way to do that is to bite the bullet and give it a try. Cover your butt; just in case it doesn't work so when you leave the company you do sign on with can't hold back any of your money.
The meaning of Expedite Driving: You are in business for yourself. If you are in business for yourself, as an independent contractor, you generally would consider yourself as a self-employed individual. May want to hire a lawyer, and have him read over the company contract before you sign it. (Cover you butt) Best thing to do is interview the company, as well, do background checks on them.
Like I said we can only give our own opinions.
