New Company- 600 miles from home base- good or bad

I am about to get into the expediting field. Although I have been in transportation all my life, this will be a new adventure for my family and me. I am ready to sign on with a company. I have been reading both good and bad things about them, but I take it with a grain of salt. I make my own decision, good or bad, and live with the outcome. With all that said, my concern is this.
The company I am signing on with is 600 miles from my home. With all the knowledge out there concerning home time, deadhead miles, waiting for loads etc. I would appreciate and welcome any comments.

I will be driving a 2005 Sprinter 158”er

Depending on the company, this should not be a big deal at all. You did not say what city you live in? If you're near a major metro area your loads should originate in your own backyard. Company headquarters location have never made any difference other than a bit of a inconvience for orientation purposes. Hope this helps with your decision?
