Ever done a back and forth? Picked in a small berg in Ga 1 skid to Atlanta Air Cargo dropping it and picking up another right back to wence I came....the first leg was 198 miles.....when the second Pro came thru the QC....Mileage= 181 miles??? WTF??
How can this be.....so I calls the office and Cust. Service brings up the trip....she says this is weird my screen says 191 miles...end solution they paid me the 198 miles.....whats with this software....this isn't the first time I've caught the software lying to me....What I do now is....bring up MS Trips and then I Google it....check the mileage...if it's off the paid miles, I call and have them bring up the trip and review it....sometime I win...I've never lost miles from doing this...

Sometimes I've found the mapping software set to shortest routing can come up with novel routing but of course it adds loads of time to the run. I've found a couple of dispatchers utilizing this to cut the price to the customer but of course give us the timing for going the fastest routing, making for more miles traveled than paid for.

Haven't had them change mileage from one direction to the other yet.

i once P/U a pre loaded sealed trailer @ a shipper in Tampa,F.L
and when got to the Costumer in Cleavland,O.H ,opened the doors ,and the contractor say : wrong freight ...(shipper made that mistake )
so i had to drive back to Tampa reload , and up to Cleavland.
running north twice was within 2 mil.
running south was 9 mil. longer.
all hub millage .
never could figure this one ...
strange things happened.

in previous years i used to get payed 9.4% less then it actually took to run the line.
from my short experience in Expedite,
well, a few weeks back i took an advice from DougTravel and started monitoring my payed millage more cerfully ,
the hob millage are normally about 1% more then what i get payed for,
the GPS showing about 3% more then what i get payed for.
the Microsoft S&T is about 7% more then what i get payed for.
those are premature #'s, and i will post more results when i get a full quarter checking into this.
strange things happened.
