WOW there is a liberal agenda in the writer of this peice.I belive that there are crimes that death should be a punishment.There are crimes that are not but shhould be in my mind.Should the victims family have an input? yes.Should they get an out right say?no matter if you are for ir or against it NO.You see in this peice it talks about how the the victims family does not want their sons killers to get death.It also talks about davis and his victim mother.How she says she wants it over with that this is the justice for her son.What they dont say is she has also said by davis being put to death she will have peace in knowing her sons killer is not living to be an old man.

As far as it costing less to jail then to execute that is because so far to date it has never been shown that an innocent man has been put to death.That is because a person is givin so many chances at appeal.Alot of anti death people say it is just as good to give them life that socity is just as safe.However this is not true.A female guard last year in washington state was killed by a man doing life.When someone is shown to be a killer and have no reguard for others in anyway and are given a life sentence what do they have to lose.Have you ever watched lock up raw.Many times on there the prisoners say that very thing.Im doing life already what more can they give me?Life plus life.

More over I belive this peice was written more to make the other side look bad then it was to try and open up any dialogue.Just look at the first four paragraphs.Then look at the last one.This was more of a attack on the right and their beliefs then it was to try and open up any dialogue.

Your defense of your position is exactly what I was going for: No screaming about how "wrong" this piece is, or how wrong, or right, the different positions are. Hopefully there will be more responses.
