The way expediters live and work on the road varies as much as the expediters themselves. Diane and I recently spent a week in the western states. I wrote a story about it that illustrates our way. Topics include worries about slow freight, deadhead decisions, attitude management, truck maintenance, meeting people on the road, and passing time while waiting for freight.
There is no single best way to do expediting and there are many ways that work. Our's is but one way of many. I share our story in hopes that some readers, especially people researching the industry, might learn a bit more about the challenges and opportunities expediting presents.
