Can a T300/370 be converted to air ride cab mounts? QUOTE]
Absolutly you can & should
The idea of trucking long distances
in a class 7 vehicle w/o bags is
downright physically damaging.
The constant pounding of the road
surface eventully sucks the life right
out of you. If youre only seperated
by shocks and a block of hardened
rubber --?-- you tire out quicker and
your mental sharpness gets dulled by
the non-stop assault to the body.
If youre teaming its extremly important
the sleeping driver actually sleeps. The
quality of the sleep period is deffinatly
somthing id be investing money into.
I remember quite well what it felt like
being launched into the air after hitting
a bridge apron one night. That incident
led me to investigate the reason why the
truck rode so roughly. I was informed that
the typical class 7 vehicle parks at night
and the driver is asleep at home in his
own bed. So in fact, a class 7 vehicle is not
designed for the job we were trying to do
in it. We also found out the cost to retrofit
bags for both the cab and sleeper was somthing
in the range of $8000.00 for a M2. The majority
of the cost was labor.
Because of financial restraints, we had to endure
the ride for nearly 1 1/2 years. Once we had the
proper funding we immediatly upgraded to a basic
Columbia. Fyda gave us a reasonable trade-in and
we finally had a mans/womans truck.
We now can drive longer periods of time without
the fatigue we'd become accustomed to . We sleep
like there's no tomorrow as ive often had to nag nag
my co-driver just to wake her up. Oh yeah, we also
make allot more money. Simply because we have
the proper equipment.
Air bags ?? You betcha !!!!!
