Is this normal?

While getting some extra keys made for my T300, I discovered that you can insert or remove the ignition key in any postion, on - off - assy, engine running or not and when running it keeps running and supplies normal power with the key removed. Could be handy at times I suppose.

Had a Ford pick-up that did that for a bit.Turns out the lock pin was broken, not really a pin actually but a ring that one of the valleys on the key locks into.

i wouldn't call it normal, but I've had a few older cars with worn out ignition switches that did this.

Truck driving is not a normal work. It takes huge afford., but now the truck driving is much more easy due to power staring and other feature.
Thanks

If I was sure the ignition was indeed locked in the off position with the key out,
I wouldn't bother with having it replaced. There may be times it would come in handy having it like that.
