Insurance and Taxes(everyones favorite!)

As a potential new o/o we understand that we need 1 million cargo insurance. Where is a good place to get this? Can we get this from the company we sign on with? Do you o/o out there have accountants to pay taxes your quarterly or how do you do it?

You can go through finding, getting, keeping, paying and monitoring your own insurance policiy or you can get the insurance through your carrier via weekly deduction and not give it another thought as long as you're with that carrier. John Turner is my CPA and can be heard on XM radio and found on the web at truckcpa.com. It's the smart way to go.

Are you sure its 1000000 cargo insurance and not liability.THe company your leased to should cover the cargo insurance in fact, the million dollar public liability too.What are you leasing to that company for if your paying their insurance

Dont you feel that you might missing on some Deduction for working with a Trucking accounted ,
Rather then an Expedite one ?

Can the truckcpa. match the rate charged by the ones that advertise on EO ?

your experience can help me too .
i used to work with ATBS for years ,and dont know if they are the best choice anymore. ,they do not understand Expedite .

Dont think they know all the deductions for an up to 33 K expediter .
think they will over charge me to file my taxes ,hwy use taxes are different, Ext...
it might be better for me to work with one that only deal with Expedite.
you dont go to a welder shop for a tooth filling ...

Moose ive been useing the same accountant for years,in fact i may be over paying him,but he knows all the ins and outs of the trucking industry,and saves me lots of taxes.my question is,whats the difference between truckng and expedite as far as taxes.you have your paid out and your taken in,every dime i pay out has a receipt and is a write off.As far as my road taxes,fecc takes care of them,and if your leased to someone so will they
