I gotta ask again, and i know the number of people coming here has dwindled. However, there are enough that I should be able to get a good idea about insurance. For 8 years I was getting Non Trucking Liability through Progressive. Annual premiums ranged from $2,500 - $3,500. This year Progressive decided not to offer NTL in NY any longer. So, for a general commercial liability policy I have a premium of $9,122. The company I'm contracted with covers my van when under dispatch. I deliver one specific item, I am considered under dispatch for the entire round trip. Last year, 90k miles under dispatch, 7k miles as personal use. So, $9,122 premium for 7k miles.Anyone else got this issue? I'm about to get priced out of this is I think if I can't find a cheaper insurance.

I just spoke with Progressive about "courier" insurance and probably the key question asked, "will you be using the vehicle for any personal use?"... My answer was "No - I have a pickup truck as my daily driver." Now I know "courier" and "expediter" insurance isn't the same, but if you have a second vehicle to drive for personal use, that might change your premium substantially... at least that is what I was told.

That's an interesting piece of info, thanks for that. I'm going to have to have my agent check into that.
