Here's some general information advice for all of us o/o expeditors out there: Don't be surprised if in the next few months we see the companies easing back on their dumb-##### tactics such as rating us on load refusals. Refusing a load is our right as an independent contractor and any attempt by our company to attempt to withhold future load offers based on this premise should then place us on the role as an employee, making them responsible for our withholding taxes. More than just a small rumble is being made about this at the IRS lately. Did you ever wonder why IF this is such a lucrative business they don't stop the owner/operators entirely and just go to company trucks? Can you imagine a company driver being paid hourly to sit in Memphis for 2 days? Ha!
