I have the same setup but a smaller sleeper. I would recommend you get an oil analysis. The Speedco places can do this in about 15 minutes. If the truck was routinely serviced at Freightliner dealers, they can take the vin number and give you a history of maintenance. As far as opening up the space from the cab to the sleeper probably an oufit like Aluma Bunk which builds sleepers for staight trucks could help you.I have been told that an overhaul on the Cummins C will run anywhere from 4-8 K based on the turbo!s condition. Mine has 685,000 on it and I know of trucks that have gone 800,00 without an overhaul. If you care to share it I would be interested in knowing what you paid for this truck.I also sent you a private e mail about your FDX CC questions.

I had a 8.3 Cummins in my 95 FL that I just traded, The previous owner had abused the @#**! out of the truck to the point of running without the condensate trap on the air filter. This allowed the engine to suck road salt, wombats and an occassional hitch-hiker, and the like right into the manifold. So, I ended up having an in-frame rebuild including the turbo done at 220,000 miles at Cummins. Total cost $6500.00, Ran the truck for another two years and 240,000 miles and when I traded it the engine was running stronger than ever.
