I feel about as screwed as a driver in a over weight truck on a D.O.T. Scale....

The reason I said that is because I read there is war over who got the better van. Would it be GM,GMC,Ford, or Dodge and I rode almost all but the Sprinter. I feel like I was in a thin steel skin car you feel and hear anything and everything you drove over and dont let it be cold or super hot either you in a fire or sitting on ice. What I did like you can pack what need if fits it rides but I just love the way the sprinter looks over the rest. I read in a sprinter need alot of money for repairs. Then I read you have to be able carry three pallets that don't leave you any sleeper how would that work with a team. My wife really don't understand why there is no potty. It would be a dream killer if there was no sleeper so she could rest her head. I really want her go with me so having three pallets might be problem if you know what I mean....GMC was my first van I rode and drove at Pepis cola and it was my first love but sprinter is really hot!!!! 1st Issue.....When my wife was out we had a porta pottie....house rule...only #1's allowed or the offending person had to dump it....LOL
2nd issue...for 40 bucks get a room....

Sometimes when you have 3 skids, they able to be stacked hence leaving room to sleep, sometimes the 3rd skid might be a partial....some shippers will let you hand load that one and take the skid with you to restack it...which of course is on you but you'll have room to sleep....
Worse case that can happen is 3 48x48's which don't happen all that often...The 48x45 auto bins are stackable in most cases and are 68 in high and turn them sideways you have tons of room left..

Don't sweat the small stuff.....

Three skids is important only to a few crriers, Landstar for example, does not require it.

I have a Sprinter, with custom sleeper, and can only transport 2 skids. (I have 104" of floor space for freight)

While it would be a good idea to increase capacity by whatever means, it might be just as adviseable to have the 9990# version of the 3500 Sprinter. You may not have more floor space, but you can legally, and safely, transport a heavier load up to 4,000#

After that exhaustive search a few months ago for a new van, if I were to buy a new one, it would indeed be the Sprinter 3500, 107" extended, .... those thoughts might change next year when Ford rolls out the "new and improved" Transit and Nissan brings in a larger version of their van.

Don't forget the Dodge Ducato for 2014 i think...a few of them right now at the Chelsea proving grounds...
