HUT Sticker (PermiT)

Quick one here. I just met one of truck about an hour ago to put on the new permits and give him new cab card etc. The company sent everything but a new HUT sticker. Now all the paperwork is now in the truck. I just looked through the envelope for my other truck and there is no HUT sticker in there either. Does that expire at a different time or not at all. The last time I put new ones on is when I changed companies. Anybody know? I can check with compnay Monday but I am just wondering if I lost them or did not get because I dont need.

The New York HUT (Highway Use Tax) stickers take about a month to come in, If you have a need, they are faxable, and you can get a one day three day or 30 day temporary. (generally you order it and you get the 30 day, if that runs out before the sticker catches up with the truck you can get extensions. Be certain and get those ordered if you run in NY. ) most carriers don't order them unless the truck will run in NY often.
I see fines often, not every day, but more than I should. I work for one of the larger OTR companies at the NY terminal, $500 is not uncommon.
As for when it runs out, check the cab card which accompanies the sticker, the expiration date is on that. Also, they are generally good for two years IIRC. Hope this helps!

They are usually late and give extensions. Check with your permit service to see if they are in fact late this year? By the way, why are number 6, or should that be SICK? Just curious?

Glen, The 6 is for Mark Martin. Among my NASCAR buddies I always said out of Rousch Racing stable, Mark would be the first to be Champion. I have followed racing since childhood and many called me RACEMAN. Mark Martin came close two years in a row but never pulled it off falling to two other Rousch teams and he has announced his retirement, so my buddies said what are going to do now go by Mark? So it is just a little joke. It is just a play on those Hollywood types that do crazy things like one name and symbols. I just covered all the goofy stuff by going with 6.A number of the folks that know the story have left the site so I guess I can let it go now.
