How about flatbeds

I am considering buying a 1 ton dually and a 25 foot dovetail flatbed gooseneck trailer. Am new at this and wondering if I can make any money with a rig like this. I would be able to carry about 12,000 pounds and still be under 26,000. Would I need a CDL? Do I try to find somewhere to put the rig on, or do I need to get my own authority to run across state lines? I think I have to run 2500 miles a week and make about $1.25 a mile to make a decent living. Is this realistic? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Sounds like you might be equipped as a hotshot. That's someone who is usually transporting cars, or the like. If that is the case you might check out the ads on Ebay for auto transporters and contact one of those companies. There is a small company in Streamwood, Illinois that started out as a husband and wife who just wanted to supplement their retirement income a little. I think they have four or five guys working for them now and they are having a hard time keeping up with the demand. THere last name is Fawley and I think their company is Fawley transportation. So far on this sight I haven't heard of anyone else running a setup like yours. I hope this helps. Good Luck
