Hi! and a question

Hi everybody, have been looking around at expediting, as I have the opportunity to purchase an expediter. It's a 2007 Freightliner, auto, 135,000 KM (in canada, so about 85k miles), 60 in. sleeper, 24 foot cargo box, tandem rear axles. From what I'm being told, should be about 13,000.00 down, 2100.00 (cdn) per month. My question would be, is that reasonable/average for that type of vehicle? Thanks in advance!

How many months? 2100 seems a tad high to me

Oh right, sorry, should have mentioned that. It's 2100.00 + taxes per month for 48 months, with a 20,000.00 buy-out at the end.

I'm by no means an expert in expediter trucks but with my math skills

13,000 Down
2100 x 48 =100,800
plus a 20,000 at the end

Is this a lease or a purchase? Sounds like a lease, if it is, is all maintenance covered, tires etc?

If this is a purchase
$133,800 seems very high as you can purchase new trucks for this or under

An 07 I would think you could find a lot of truck for 35-40K US in decent shape, 130k is way too high IMO

Try to spread out payments over 5 years. You can always pay a little extra when times are good, have a low payment when times are lean.
