Basil, is an anti-inflammatory, leafy herb that pumps up your cardiovascular health and protects your blood vessel walls from cholesterol build–up—and it makes the most refreshing summer drink when paired with fresh lemon juice and cucumber in water.

Garlic, while technically not an herb, is so full of heart-healthy compounds that we had to give it a high-five. This awesome bulb is also touted for its anti-inflammatory properties and contributes to allergy and respiratory relief and cancer prevention.

Oregano, carries both antioxidant and antibacterial properties with a surprising boost of fiber, to boot. Also rich in vitamin K, iron and calcium, this herb packs an aromatic flavor.

Parsley, the green sprig that’s long been sidelined on your dinner plate, is actually quite the nutritional superstar. It’s a vibrant source of vitamin K for healthy bones, and vitamins C and A—antioxidants that help keep your immune system healthy. Not too shabby for a little garnish, right?

How about that? Yesterday I harvested some of my herbs and froze them leaving part of the plants for use now. Lemon basil, chives, oregano and cilantro. And the garlic bulbs are growing in the garden!:)
