Looking to get into expidited...
sold off my towing business.
Im trying to avoid buying an ex amazon van.
I know I need 2015 or newer and less than 150k. Im looking at a 2019 ford e transit 350. High roof. lwb. Its in great shape.
It has 300k on the dash... BRAND new crate ecoboost. 17 miles. with paperwork, invoices and reciepts to prove it.
I am in VERY rural NWPA. Will be driving 6 hours to buy the van....

will carriers still give me a contract with the proof of new engine. Or should I completely avoid it and TRY to find something else.
I have 13k to spend. the transit is 11k.
My ONLY other options have been ex amazon and also 5 or more hours away.
I appreciate any input. thanks guys.

Before buying a van, what do you know about the expediting industry? From your post, im guessing not much.

May i suggest delays in your purchase plans. Go drive for a fleet owner for at least a year, maybe two. Learn on their equipment.

Like the towing business, there is so much more to expediting than turn key and drive.

Good luck in your endeavors.

well i dont really have that option. Ive done EXTENSIVE research. I wont be getting my own authority. So I wont be doing loadboard hotshot stuff. I plan on finding a decent carrier and look for some local work as well. I would like to do otr. So with so many options for carriers and already having all the coverage i need I figure I shouldnt have trouble finding one. but they will all be out of town. I am 2 hours from pretty much anything lol. If all else fails I will deck the van out and carry on my mobile mechanic buisness. But no I certainly dont know as much as id like too. If theres any tips you can offer as far is what I asked.... If i purchase a vehicle with a crate engine and proof.... but 300k on the dash.... will I have issues with carrier? also... do carriers away from the nissan nv2500 and 3500s?
thanks again.

Ive done EXTENSIVE research.
With the research you have done, are you able to quote the failure rate for first-year van owner-operators or a reasonable approximation? Are you able to list the top 5 reasons for the failures, and does your business plan address each of them?
