Just finished another good book...

John has written several good texts concerning the myth
of gun control as defined by Liberals...
citizens without legal access to firearms.

Just two interesting facts found in his texts...

1. Almost 30% of school shooting situations in the USA have been
stopped before the arrival of law enforcement personnel
by honest citizens with their legal firearms.

2. A constant trend in communities which allow honest citizens
to carry concealed firearms is the decrease in violent crimes .

NOW... YES..!!!
Each State should insure that ONLY mentally stable,
honest citizens who have completed firearms training
have the ability to own and carry firearms.
THAT is the lesson learned this past week at Virginia Tech.

My Father and two uncles who were Highway Patrolmen always
taught those who were wise enough to listen...

When confronted with life and death situations
involving anti-social, criminal behavior...
Never display a gun unless your are prepared to use it.
Never aim a gun unless you intend to shoot.
Always shoot to kill.

Informed, trained and armed citizens save lives.

More stuff coming out on the news about this homicidal maniac at Va Tech (assuming it's accurate). He was referred to a mental health institute in 2005 after being turned in for stalking two different girls there. He was evaluated at that time as being mentally ill and a danger to himself and others. Va Tech administration claims that they were unaware of this evaluation!!?? To top it all off, the Va state legislature voted down a measure last year that would have allowed mental evaluations such as these to be included in the background checks required for gun purchases. That might have helped somewhat, but he would have just ended up buying the guns on the street since he was obviously planning this deal for at least several weeks.

Point Taken...
Anti-social, evil people (which is mental illness)
will get weapons and use them if no one is able to stop them.
If not guns...clubs, knives, bombs, cars/trucks, aircraft, etc....

Unfortunately, law enforcement often will arrive too late.

Which takes us back to informed, responsible,trained,
armed citizens using their legal right to protect themselves.

Again, this has happened in almost 30% of school shooting situations.
Not to mention MANY other non-school type shootings.

In these cases,
THANK GOD responsible citizens took life saving action.!!!

It is ironic that we are talking about loners or Anti-social types and being in the very industry with the very profession that we do almost all of our work alone (or in the case, with a team member).

It really is hard for me to understand how a reasonably intelligent human being can't grasp the simple logic you have just stated. Armed, responsible law abiding citizens are THE best deterrent to all crimes. PERIOD. Studies have proven it over and over again...
