I've been browsing these forums for quite a while now but I think it's about time I participated. I'm planning on buying my first truck next month and I know I can count on this forum to help guide me through. Just let me know what you need from me. I'd be glad to return the favor.

If your near NYC you should be able to find trips home often alot of drivers won't go there. Welcome:)

No offense to the forum and the folks on here of which I'm one of. These forums are great and I have learned a lot about the business here. I caution you to not go out and buy a truck and then look on here for answers. Have you considered driving for someone else first? I have talked to a lot of good people who have failed in this business. The carriers we are leased on with will not be able to teach you how to be an owner operator. As an independant contractor there are laws that prevent the carriers from training you in areas other than understanding their procedures. Believe me this is a lot more than driving your truck. If you learn the business from the drivers standpoint first you will be better prepared to we a good OO.
