Sorry to bring this topic up again since its been previously explored.But I just gotta know does anyone know if the Garmin i5 in truck mode is reliable. ie will it run me under a low bridge and or take me down restricted routes etc.I would just like to know how good it is in truck mode in car mode it works great. Thanks.

What it boils down to is have an atlas with you.

If your not comfortable with the route check it against the atlas.

Tech is a very good thing. Having a GPS unit with you in this business is a better thing.

Warning..... Do not depend on this to the point that you forget commonsense. NO do not depend on these for low bridges, weight restricted bridges, narrow roads, low trees, or when it wants to take you thru a nieghborhood instead of staying on a County or State Road.

It does not happen often but it will happen, so always stay sharp and study the map before you leave your PU. It will aid you, but you must do the driving.
