Ok. Read back over many months. Especially the newbie forum.
Every question you can think of has been asked.
And many you wouldn't ask until you know more.

Seriously, it's all there.

If you don't mind, a few more for you. There would be different answers from us depending on your situation.

Why do you want to do this ?
You will have NO benefits and will have to cover ALL your taxes.
Wife/ kids ?
Where do you live ?
Buying new or used ?
Available cash. How much do you need in take home per month ?
What real life experiences/jobs have you had ?

Good Luck.

Your answers will be coming.
Do a lot of reading and pay particular attention to contracts.
My guess is you'll be advised to drive for somebody, at least til you learn the business.
That would be good advice to follow.
If you can handle straight truck, many advantages to getting CDL B.
More comfort. More $$$ .Probably more opportunities
This site has free classified ads. Poke around there, too. .

Go to an EO University session if you can.

1. You can't do this with little money.
2. You must research carriers extensively, assuming you will be signing on with one.
3. Research more.
4. Find some more money.
5. Free up whatever credit you can.
6. Get a service manual for your Sprinter. Even an online downloaded manual would be a good help.
7. Sell whatever junk you don't want and save up that money.
8. Go to Pilot or Flying J and get a Professional Driver card.
9. Check under the seat cushions of your couch for spare change, and save that.
10. Ask your parents if they can be on "stand by" in case you need a few bucks until your next settlement.
11. Do more carrier research.

Plus about 337 other things. LOL!!

It's not as dim as that. But everyone WILL suggest you spend a lot of time reading the answers to the same questions here on EO.

You didn't say where you live but a very good thing to do would be attend a free expedite university. Look on the front page of this site there should be a link.

Your not needing a ton of income which is good I would highly recimend driving for a fleet owner for 6 to 12 months before investing your own money. Talk about an education you will get one!
