I saw a neat unit yesterday that got me thinking. It was a 4300 with a sleeper and had a 25 - 30 foot flat bed it was pulling on it's fifth wheel. GOt me thinking about doing the same thing but with a 24' trailer maybe? Like having a E unit but on a smaller scale!

There has been some talk of several drivers doing exactly that, taking a road tractor, possibly even a single axle, and running a pup trailor. I know Weave used to talk about that. I've heard of some companies calling that a Super D Unit.

Seems like a way to possibly get around the 40' rule and still get a nice sleeper. Also might make it nice if you wanted to do any sight seeing while you were on your down time. The disadvantage I have just seen initially is finding a trailer that has the dock height needed. It seems like it might be a neat option and offer alot of flexibility? Just an idea again!!!!

Any thoughts on this idea?
